What is ValidMeet?
A meetup app that shows you who is free nearby right now and helps you turn that into a real, in-person hangout — for friendship, dating, or Beacon group meetups.
Is ValidMeet available yet?
Not yet. The first beta opens in Austin, Texas soon — join the list and we will email you when your spot is ready. Starting in one city keeps enough people nearby for spontaneous meetups to actually work.
Is this a dating app or a friends app?
Both — you choose. Set your mode to friends, dating, or Beacon group meetups, and people see what you are open to before they connect.
How does ValidMeet stop people from flaking?
You hold a small number of hearts, and flaking spends them. Skipping a match costs one heart; backing out after you commit costs two. Hearts refill slowly over time, so the people still holding hearts are the people who show up.
What is a meetup streak?
A streak between two people that only advances when you both bump phones after meeting in person. Messaging never counts toward it, so a streak is proof of real meetups instead of chatting.
Does it cost anything during the beta?

What does a “validated” Beacon location mean?
Beacon spots are reviewed so group meetups land at appropriate public places rather than anywhere on the map. It is a planning and trust layer, not a guarantee of personal safety — always use your own judgment.
